Free shelving plan review
A section count is the start. The plan is where it goes right or wrong.
Send your estimate and we'll review it with you, at no cost:
- Layout, range lengths and aisle widths, including ADA clearances
- Shelf heights and sightlines by age group
- Whether compact or mobile shelving fits your space
- Realistic growth and weeding assumptions for your system
How the estimate works
Each collection is sized separately, then converted to 36" sections using the number of shelves that fit on a face at the height you pick.
linear ft = items × (1 + growth) ÷ items per ft ÷ working capacity
sections = linear ft ÷ (shelves per face × faces × 3 ft)
What this doesn't cover
This is a planning estimate, not a shelving design. It doesn't account for floor space, aisle widths, end panels, display ends, wall conditions or structural loads. Items per foot vary with how a collection is housed, especially AV. Confirm any figure with a shelving plan before you budget or order.
